In Part 1 of "Healing for Our Sons", I will be sitting in circle with two of the most important men in my life, My father and my oldest son. 

My father ran from his relationship with me, and I would later run from a relationship with my oldest. My father would end up losing years of his life to incarceration and I would end up a felon at the age of 16. 

My son is coming to this space at the tender age of 14 and will be seeing his grandfather for the first time in his life.

These relationships have not always been easy, and parts of them are still disconnected. But we’re choosing to come together, in front of the world, to do something many of us were never taught to do:

Be honest, be vulnerable, and tell the truth about the impact of the presence and absence of our fathers.
